The highly exciting Spires 5-A-Side Naija Street Soccer Championship will move to Epe, Lagos State next Saturday, May 2nd, as phase two of the tournament takes place with great expectations, Sports247 reports.
Phase one of the competition came to a pulsating end this past Saturday at Deeonis Football Courts in Ota-Ona area of Ikorodu, where Orion & Leon FC retained the title with a 7-0 trouncing of New Generation FC.

Coach Biyi Adesanya’s team got N500,000 for their triumph, while New Generation went home with N300,000 as runners-up and Diamond FC were presented with N100,000 for placing third.
Samuel Emmanuel of Orion & Leon won the top goal scorer’s award and N50,000 cash, while all three finalists secured qualification to represent Ikorodu division at the Lagos State championship finals in October.
Initiator of the competition, Dr Bankole Allibay described the first phase as a huge commencement spot and strong foundation for its expansion across Lagos State, adding that the organization in other divisions would be improved.
While expressing great expectations for an even better organisation of the tourney’s next phase in Epe, Dr Allibay congratulated the three qualified teams and disclosed that he expects them to enact great performances at the state level.
“We have started well in Ikorodu and the projection is to improve on the standard in other divisions. Congratulations to the top three teams. We look forward to seeing them at the state championship,” Allibay said.
