Former Iganmu FC Striker Shines in Debut For Remo Stars in the Nigerian National League, Set Sights On Europe

The dream of every grassroots player is to move from their current position to bigger clubs and such is the Ifeanyi Nwala who moved from TCC League and NLO side Iganmu FC to Nigerian National League (NNL) side Remo Stars and made his debut in a 1-0 win over FC One Rocket.

“It was my first game, I was so happy because I was the only new player who featured in the game and I believe I played well in the minutes I spent in the second half,” Ifeanyi said. “I didn’t lose any ball, it was very nice and a good game. The team we played against was tough and we didn’t give them the chance as we won the game. The fans were happy and felt the move was good for me and believed I will give my best to the club,” he added.

The striker spoke about his future goals even as he doesn’t expect to be in the club for long as they eye promotion to the NPFL.

“I’m looking forward to it. I hope I perform well and I’ve been working hard, scoring in every training. I want the team to gain promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League. My plan is to move from here to Europe and I know this year will favor me,” the striker said.

“I’m not here to stay but I’m going to help them gain promotion and when they gain promotion it will add value to my profile and I’m looking forward to playing in Europe,” he concluded.

The striker came on in the 70th minute to replace Dada Oladimeji as his side ran out slim one-nil winners courtesy of a 23rd-minute header from Agbeko Morgan who headed in Ismail Sadiq’s cross from a corner and the win ensured the team remains top of the NNL 2020/21 Group B2 table with 27points, 3points ahead of second-placed Bendel Insurance with 13 games played as the second half of the season got underway.
