At just 16, Femi Ogunniran is already showing the confidence and versatility required to make an impression in The Creative Championship, with the Gbagada FC youngster earning Man of the Match recognition on Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 TCC League.
Ogunniran’s story is particularly interesting because of the responsibility he carries at such a young age. Gbagada described him during their opening league fixture as a left-back who “orchestrates the left flank both in defence and attack,” highlighting the two-way qualities he brings to the Blue Eagles.
Although some external databases list him as a forward, TCC’s official 2026/27 registration has the No.13 classified as a defender, reinforcing his versatility.
“I want to own my flank whenever I play. I know I have responsibilities defensively, but I also want to help the team going forward. I’m still young, still learning, and performances like this give me more confidence to keep improving.”
Ogunniran has already demonstrated that attacking instinct in competitive action.
During last season’s TCC Cup quarter-final against Real Sapphire, he produced a superb late lob to seal Gbagada’s 2-0 victory and send the Blue Eagles into the semi-finals.
That ability to contribute at both ends makes his development particularly intriguing.
Born in October 2009, Ogunniran is only 16 years old, yet he is already accumulating meaningful senior competitive experiences and individual recognition.
