Nottingham Forest manager Vítor Pereira has admitted there are still concerns surrounding the fitness of Nigerian defender Ola Aina ahead of tonight’s crucial semi-final second leg.
Aina was forced off in the 75th minute of the first leg after picking up an injury and subsequently missed Forest’s victory over Chelsea earlier in the week.
“There are still doubts,” Pereira said.
According to the Forest boss, Aina is not the only player facing late fitness checks, with several members of the squad still being assessed.
“We have a few concerns,” he implied.
Despite the uncertainty, Pereira expressed confidence in the mentality and commitment of his players heading into the decisive encounter.
“There’s no doubt about their attitude,” he noted.
The Portuguese coach emphasized that belief within the squad remains strong, regardless of who is available for selection.
“We believe in ourselves,” he added.
For Forest, Aina’s potential absence would represent a major setback given his importance to the team this season.
“He’s been important for us,” Pereira stressed.
However, the manager insisted that the squad is prepared to adapt if necessary.
“We must be ready for every situation,” he said.
As kickoff approaches, supporters will be anxiously awaiting updates on the defender’s condition.
For Pereira, the message is clear.
Stay focused.
Trust the squad.
And fight together.
Because in football, adversity often tests character—and Forest are determined to rise to the challenge.
