Former president of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Solomon Ogba, has praised Team Nigeria following their performances at the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana.
Reflecting on the competition, Ogba expressed satisfaction with the performances delivered by the largely youthful Nigerian squad.
“The future is bright,” he said.
According to the former AFN president, many members of the team were competing at that level for the first time, making their performances even more encouraging.
“They showed great promise,” he implied.
Ogba emphasized that exposing young athletes to elite competitions is essential for long-term development.
“This experience is important,” he noted.
He also commended both the athletes and coaching staff for their efforts throughout the competition.
“They deserve credit,” he added.
For Ogba, the outing demonstrated that Nigeria possesses a strong pipeline of emerging talent capable of competing internationally. “We have good young athletes,” he stressed.
He further expressed confidence that Nigeria will perform strongly at the upcoming African Championships, particularly when more established stars join the squad. “We will be stronger there,” he said.
The World Relays provided valuable lessons and exposure for the team as preparations continue for future events.
For Ogba, the message is clear.
Invest in young talent.
Give them experience.
And trust the future.
Because success in athletics is built by preparing the next generation early.
