Remo Stars’ Feeder Team Takes Shape With Bobby’s Football Academy, Former Libya-based Player In Charge

A former midfielder, who played for Al-Ahly of Libya in his heyday, Kehinde Abdulganiyu is leading the charge for the emergence of an official feeder team for Remo Stars FC of Ikenne, Ogun State.

Sports247 gathered that Abdulganiyu, who played with two former national team stars, Gabriel Okolosi and Baldwin Bazuaye, during his days in Libya, is leveraging the successs of his personal team, Bobby’s Football Academy, to propel a squad of kids aged between 12 and 17 years as feeders for Honourable Kunle Soname’s side.

The player-turned-youth developer, who also featured for Sunshine Stars of Akure before travelling to Libya, now marshals his squad during the week at Recreation Ground, near Obafemi Square in Ikenne, then shifts them to Remo Stars FC’s training pitch for special drills every Saturday.

The youthful tactician, who friends fondly call ‘Coach Kenny,’ said he is happy with the progress the academy is making, especially after they won Ikenne Cup recently and his former captain, Musbury Adelaja signed for SG Athletic FC in the Nationwide League One (NLO).

The current captain, Daniel Ogorinde Oshineye is a centre back who admires Fulham FC’s Calvin Bassey, while his second assistant is Edet Samson, an indigene of Cross River State.

Incidentally, though Edet plays on the right-wing, he admires Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen, who is also idolised by the academy’s top striker, Daniel Odueke (aka Koko), a scorer of 24 goals since joining the academy last year.

“I am happy that we are always making a lot of progress,” Coach Kenny revealed with glee, “This academy has been in existence for 15 years and we are still waxing srrong.

“We have so many cups and records to show, all of which make me very happy. I aldo thank my friend, Oluwafemi Odulaja, who is now based in UK, for helping me start the academy during our days together in Ikorodu.”
