Osevan FC Through To Delta FA Cup Finals

Osevan Football club Kwale romped into the Finals of the Delta State FA CUP after defeating Sapele Lions 2-1 on Thursday at the Agbor Township Stadium.

The victory pitched the Kwale bases team against Warri Wolves to set up a second consecutive finals fixtures of Delta State Aiteo cup a repeat of the 2022 edition that saw them play against Apex Krane in the finals.

Osevan, a Grassroots team on their path to the finals dispatched several NLO sides. They had earlier knockout Sunsel FC of Oghara an NLO side by a goal to nil and defeated Igho FC of Sapele in the quarter finals by a penalty shoot of 4:3 after a full time 2goals apiece before the Semi finals clash against Sapele lions another NLO 1 team

CEO of Osevan fc, Coach Whyte Achugbue, was elated after the finals and gave thanks to God for the achievement so far.

” Firstly i want to give praise to Almighty God because as a team, we so believe in Him and He has been guilding our ways since the establishment of the team.” He said after the match.

” it is all about hard work and determination from the boys whom i owe a high commendation for their high spirit to repeat last year feat, and see them through to another Finals having played last year against 2022 Champions Apex krane of asaba who were knockout as early as the 2nd round of this year 2023 tournament.”

Speaking further the former Delta Queen Coach said although, he passed through a lot rebuilding his team because after their 2022 National FA lost in the 2nd round, to Bayelsa utd in Enyimba international stadium Aba, most of his boys were deceived and snatched to play with other teams why some were also not interested to continue based on negative mindset and advice from certain individuals to discourage them from sticking with osevan.

” The plan was to disorganized and collapsed an already built project we had successfully maintained over the years. But as God will have it, I swung into action with the academy boys and brought some few players on loan with the permission of some teams/ Coaches that couldn’t register for this year tournament. All I did was to work on them, blend and subjected them to some friendlies before the kickoff of the tournament and thank God, our efforts were not in vain.^ he enthused

“I want to use this medium to appreciate our Chairman, Prince Evan, the New pillar of sports in Ndokwa Nation for his financial commitment to the team, he never doubted what we, as a team could do, gave us the nod to reorganize the team for Challenge and I pray, may God continue to bless him in Jesus name amen”

Coach Whyte also thanked his management team, TM David Ekufia and our coordinator, Tompsom Esumie, for thier various contributions/suggestion to the team. Not also forgetting the fans in kwale, Delta State and beyond for all thier prayers and wishes to see us get to the finals once again.

*On a final note, the CEO used the opportunity to call for support and sponsorship as they prepare for the finals and also taking part in the National Aiteo Cup Tournament as State are preventative.

“Lets I forget, I want to appeal for partnership again, in form of support or assistance from corporate bodies, individuals and political office holders from our Ndokwa Nation and also the sports Commission towards our National FA engagement.”

“Playing in the National is like representing as an ambassador of Delta State. So I plead to DFA to help us as well to channel our request to the relevant authorities. And we promise this time around to go beyond the 2nd round in the National Aiteo cup and also win the state Aiteo FA cup for Ndokwa Nation”

Osevan will be playing against the state owned team, Warri wolves FC, of warri at Stephen keshi international stadium on a yet to be announced date.

Coach Whyte Achugbue and ex professional player with different teams, was once an assistant coach to Delta force in 2017/2018, Ast Coach Delta queens 2021/2022, AST coach Team Delta Football festival Football team, 2015 & 2022; has won laurels with Osevan in different tournamnts; Champion Ndokwa Unity Cup 2019, Bronze Delta State bet9ja league 2019, Silver Anioma Unity cup 2019 and why with Delta queens, Coordinated the efforts of the interim coach for the double finalist 2022 as runners up in both Bet9ja league and DFA cup.
