Awoniyi Foundation Hands 350 Young Players Football Boots in Grassroots Boost

The Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation has distributed football boots to 350 young players participating in the Kwara Kiddies League (KKL), in another effort to support grassroots football development in Nigeria.

The initiative, led by Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi, aims to support young footballers in Kwara State as they continue developing their skills and pursuing their dreams of becoming professional players.

The distribution represents another contribution by the foundation to the development of young talents through the Kwara Kiddies League, which provides a competitive platform for children to showcase their abilities.

For young footballers, access to basic equipment remains an important part of participating in the game. Football boots can help players train and compete with suitable footwear, particularly during regular league matches and training sessions.
Through the latest initiative, 350 KKL players will receive support as they continue their participation in the competition.

Sports247 reports that Awoniyi has maintained an active interest in grassroots football, using his experience as a professional player to support opportunities for younger talents in his home state.
The Coventry City striker previously supported the league through his foundation, including the provision of jerseys for participating teams in 2024. His involvement has since grown, with Awoniyi becoming a majority shareholder in the Kwara Kiddies League in 2025.

His latest contribution further reflects the importance of providing young players with the resources they need to participate in organised football.
Beyond identifying promising players, grassroots development also requires sustained support for the conditions in which young talents learn and compete. Access to equipment, regular matches and proper guidance can help create a stronger foundation for their development.

The Kwara Kiddies League brings together youth football academies in the state, offering young players an opportunity to gain competitive experience while working towards their individual goals.

With 350 players set to benefit from the football boot distribution, the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation has added another practical contribution to its efforts to support the next generation of Nigerian footballers.

For Awoniyi, the initiative continues a commitment to grassroots football that began with supporting the league and has developed into a more direct role in its future.
