Grassroots combat sports in Lagos are bracing for a massive showdown as December 13, 2026 approaches.
The headlining act of The Street Rumble Season 2 features a high-stakes super-welterweight clash between two intense rivals: hard-hitting contender Michael “Hitman” Ani and reigning two-time regional champion Taiwo “Gentle Boy” Olowu.

Their long-standing feud dates back to an April 2025 bout that collapsed at the eleventh hour when Ani suffered a severe arm injury during training camp.
Forced into a grueling rehabilitation while Olowu maintained his momentum, Ani has returned with a relentless focus on redemption. He has vowed that his explosive power will shatter Olowu’s disciplined, technical style when they finally collide at Ajegunle’s iconic Maracana Square.
Beyond local bragging rights, the stakes have risen dramatically. Former WBO heavyweight titleholder and 1988 Olympic gold medalist Ray Mercer will be stationed ringside as a special guest to scout rising West African talent.
With old grievances, personal pride, and massive career opportunities hanging in the balance, both fighters are primed for an unforgettable war under the open Lagos sky.
