Valiant FC head coach Tar Akombo has accepted full responsibility for his side’s 3-1 defeat to Dino Sporting FC, admitting that missed chances and costly weaknesses contributed to the loss in their TCC League encounter.
Sports247 reports that Akombo expressed disappointment with the result, despite his team’s improved second-half performance, insisting that Valiant FC created opportunities but failed to convert them into goals.
“I take full responsibility for the loss. We created chances in the second half, but unfortunately, we could not convert those opportunities,” Akombo said.
The coach acknowledged that his players showed greater attacking intent after the break but lacked the finishing touch needed to change the outcome of the contest, as Dino Sporting FC held on to secure a 3-1 victory.
Looking ahead, Akombo stressed the need for his team to review its performance, identify its weaknesses and make the necessary adjustments before their next fixture.
“We have to go back to the drawing board, identify our flaws and make the necessary corrections. We need to learn from this performance and work on the areas where we fell short,” he added.
Despite the setback, the Valiant FC coach remained optimistic about his team’s prospects, promising a stronger response in their next outing.
“We will come back stronger. This defeat is a lesson for us, and we will work hard to correct our mistakes and perform better in our next game,” Akombo stated.
Valiant FC will now look to turn the disappointment into motivation as the coaching crew works to improve the team’s finishing, address its shortcomings and prepare for the challenge ahead.
