NPFL: Officiating have really improved in Nigeria league – Abdullahi Biffo

Technical Adviser of Katsina United, Coach Usman Abdullahi Biffo has given a thumb up to the leadership and members of Nigeria Referees Association, NRA for a near perfect officiating recorded so far in the ongoing season, sports247.ng learns.

Coach Biffo, who suffered a 2-1 loss to a Lagos State outfit, MFM on Monday at the very last minute of the game told journalists that the fatigue suffered from catching up with flight from Kano at 3am on the day of the match and lack of enough rest affected the performance of his boys particularly in the first 45 minutes of the encounter.

Former Abia Warriors gaffer expressed satisfaction over the performance of the referees despite the defeat and said Nigeria Referees have maximally improved from what it used to be and people should correct their erroneous perspection against the arbiters.

“Yes, the first 45 minutes of the game was not good enough and it’s due to fatigue suffered. We woke up at 3am to catch up with flight and getting here the same day to play the match, it’s not that easy my please. I think you all saw it that my boys played better in the second half but they conceded the goal at the very last minute and that is football for you.

Reacting to the overall performance of the referees in the ongoing season, former Tornadoes handler said:

“Without mincing words, the leadership of Nigeria Referees Association have done a great job and the officiating have infinitely improved from what it’s used to be” I think their members are now conscious of the punishment awaits them after the match and they are sticking to the tenets and the rules of the game at least in most venues”

Erstwhile assistant coach of Kwara United therefore said that the last match of the season is going to be a survival of the fittest. He used the medium to appreciate the fans for their massive support so far and urge them to rally round the Changi Boys in their last match against Enyimba.

“We have Enyimba in the last match who are justling for Super 6 and MFM would travel to Akure who are also battling relegation, so the last round of matches of the 2018/2019 abridged season is going to be a survival of the fittest. Honestly, we really appreciate our fans for their massive support so far, in fact they have being the tonic of this team particularly in this good but difficult abridged league season and they should keep on supporting the team” U.S. trained coach concludes
