Monday Gift keen to follow in the path of Oshoala, Ajibade

FC Robo defeated Young Talent 99, 5-2, in the State FA Cup final to retain the title in a game that marked the beginning of Monday Gift’s captaincy of the team.

Gift scored a brace in the final to inspire FC Robo to victory as she takes on a role previously held by Asisat Oshoala and more recently by Rasheedat Ajibade.

In chat with Sports247, the 17 year-old admits the role is a big ask, but hopes to grow into her responsibilities and “become a better player”.

“Being a captain is not that easy, but I know with this position, I have a responsibility to improve myself and my game. I am sure I’ll be a better player.”
