Egypt 2019: Fadiga eyes Senegal versus Nigeria AFCON final

Former Senegal midfielder Khalilou Fadiga has stated that he is looking forward to see Senegal and Nigeria square up against each other in the final of the fast approaching 2019 Africa cup of nations in Egypt.

In a chat with Sports247 after his recent visit to Lagos Nigeria where he played in a charity game for Africa XI against Nigeria’s legend said Senegal is one of the best nation currently in African football because of the quality of players they have but also acknowledged Nigeria, Egypt and Morocco as strong contenders while stressing that he would love to see a final clash between Senegal and Nigeria at the AFCON.

“Senegal I think now are one of the biggest team on the continent and Nigeria also is a strong team, so I hope that the two teams play at the AFCON and go to the end and we will see who is going to be the best in the end.

What we showed in the qualification with players like Sadio Mane, Balde Keita, Kalidou Coulibaly and some others is what makes a lot of people see us as one of the favourites but we still have strong teams like Nigeria, Egypt and Morocco.”

Senegal and Nigeria are however slated to face each other in Nigeria’s AFCON 2019 final preparatory game a week to the AFCON.
