NPFL: NIGER STATE GOVT FIRES TORNADOES MGT AS SOLE ADMINISTRATOR TAKES OVER

Niger State government on Tuesday dissolved the management committee of Niger Tornadoes football club of Minna for poor showing.

Sports247.ng reports that this decision was sequel to the assessment of a copy of the letter of dissolution which was served on the Chairman of the club and wide consultation with stakeholders. Sports247.ng was reliably informed that a sole administrator would be appointed to take over the affairs of the club any moment from now.

Affirming this development, Niger state Commissioner of Sports, Mr. Duza Babur in a press statement released to newsmen said the decision was carried out after due consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Duza Babur in a release said that: “This dissolution is premised on the dismal performance of the club in the current Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). In addition, the seemingly continuous administrative lapses of the management have reached an intolerable level and the ministry is left with no-further option than to take this drastic action.

Commissioner reiterated that “despite several meetings and advise from the ministry to the management, the management has continued to demonstrate the lack of wherewithal to bring the club out of its present predicament and “Consequent upon this, the once dreaded and admired Niger Tornadoes have now become a subject of mockery . This has led to loss of confidence by the supporters of the club.

“Following these submission, the ministry has no other option than to dissolve the management and appoint a sole administrator to pilot the affairs of the club to the end of the season.

“The sole administrator is expected to work hand in hand with ministry to bring the club out of the mess and take it to the next level”

Niger Tornadoes are currently at the bottom of the table after Match Day 13 of 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
