Sporting Lagos FC’s dazzling winger, Seun Akanji took time out after his team’s victory on Wednesday at the Nigeriua National League (NNL) Super-4 to honour his grassroots mentor, Femi Oladehinde.
Akanji disclosed in an exclusive interview, after his 27th minute wonder goal paved the way for a 4-0 trouncing of Doma United, that he will never forget how Oladehinde shaped his football career from scratch.

“I played under him at Femco FC of Ifo in Ogun State all through my days as a child. He’s the one who first taught me how to play in a team.
“Although I later spent some months with Chief Segun Odegbami’s sports academy, it was at Femco that I learnt the basics of football.
“I also gain a lot of inspiration from watching Eden Hazard and Vinicius Jnr. They are my heroes of football,” said the former student of Methodist School, who will soon travel out for a contract in Norway.
