The 21-year-old right-back has received his maiden senior national team call-up following an impressive season with FC Baník Ostrava in the Czech top flight.
Bewene is expected to join the Super Eagles camp in Warsaw as preparations continue for the high-profile friendly clash against Poland.
Bewene’s invitation represents a significant milestone in his career after establishing himself as a key player for Baník Ostrava during the 2025/26 campaign.
The versatile defender, who can also operate as a right midfielder, impressed with his consistency, defensive discipline, and work rate throughout the season.
Having progressed through the club’s youth and reserve ranks, Bewene earned promotion to the senior team and went on to play a crucial role in the club’s successful campaign.
His performances attracted attention from the Nigerian coaching crew, leading to his first senior international opportunity.
The call-up is seen as a reward for the young defender’s rapid development and outstanding displays in European football.
It also provides Chelle with additional options on the right side of his defence as Nigeria continues to build towards future international competitions.
Bewene will now look to make a strong impression in camp and potentially earn his first senior cap for the Super Eagles when Nigeria faces Poland before another scheduled international friendly against Portugal.
For the Kano-born defender, the invitation marks the beginning of a new chapter and an opportunity to showcase his talent on the international stage in the famous green and white colours of Nigeria.
