Nigeria’s U-18 boys’ volleyball team continued their outstanding campaign at the 2026 CAVB U-18 African Nations Volleyball Championship by defeating Cameroon 3-0 to book a place in the final in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Nigerian youngsters were in complete control throughout the semi-final, claiming victory with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-19 to maintain their unbeaten record in the tournament.
The emphatic win extends Nigeria’s impressive run to five consecutive victories, with the team dropping just one set since the start of the competition.
Nigeria began the championship in commanding fashion, topping Group A with three straight victories.
They opened with a comfortable 3-0 win over Morocco before overcoming hosts Egypt 3-1 in a highly competitive encounter. The group stage ended with another dominant 3-0 victory against Burundi.
The momentum continued into the knockout rounds as Nigeria swept aside Libya 3-0 in the quarter-finals before producing another flawless performance against Cameroon in the last four.
Displaying a combination of powerful attacking play, solid blocking, disciplined defence and effective serving, the Nigerian side has established itself as one of the standout teams at the championship.
Now just one win away from continental glory, Nigeria will head into the final determined to complete an unbeaten campaign and capture the 2026 CAVB U-18 African Nations Volleyball Championship title.
A victory in the final would further underline the progress of Nigeria’s youth volleyball programme and reinforce the country’s growing reputation as one of Africa’s emerging volleyball powerhouses.
