Nigeria female beach volleyball team is ranked 2nd in Africa

The female team retained her title at the Camtel International Beach Volleyball Championships in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

 

Reacting to the ranking, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod hailed the girls for maintain their position despite the threats form other beach volleyball nations.

Nimrod said the girls will attend several Championships and also defend her gold medal at the All Africa Games in Morocco.

He said, “This year is fully packed with beach volleyball event on the Africa continent and the world. Our priority is to ensure this girls (include the male team) participate in them.

“We shall also defend the gold medal we won at the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo. The 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco looks tough buy I am optimistic of great performance”.

Nimrod revealed that all machineries are been put in place in order for the teams to begin training in earnest ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

“Aside the All Africa Games, our dream is for Nigeria to be one of Africa representative at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. We hope to achieve this through early preparations and support from individuals and the private sector”, he added.
