Stakeholders pay courtesy visit to Nasarawa State Youth and Sports Commissioner

A delegation of Doma Stakeholders on Saturday, paid a courtesy call to Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Salisu Abubakar Haske, in Lafia.

 

The purpose of the visit, according to Honourable Robo Sani, Executive Chairman, Doma Council Area, who led the team, was to congratulate and felicitate with Haske whom he said is also a bonafide son of Doma, on his recent appointment as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.

 

“We have come to rejoice with one of our own whom the Governor deemed suitable to occupy the highest position in the Youth and Sports Ministry.

 

“Without any political, religious or social connotation, we who constitute the critical stakeholders in Doma Council Area are so proud and happy that our son and brother was appointed to lead the affairs of this tasking Ministry.

 

“We are one in Doma, irrespective of political, social or religious status. If Mr. ‘A’ succeeds, we succeed together. If Mrs. ‘B’ rejoices, we still rejoice together.

 

“Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has done so much for the people of Doma and Honourable Haske’s appointment did not come to us as any surprise because from time immemorial, he has perched his name in the history book as one of the exceptional products from the Council Area.

“While we wish him all the best in his new office, we also pray that God enriches him with abundant knowledge, wisdom and understanding to pilot the affairs of the Ministry to enviable heights.

“As stakeholders, we are also grateful to His Excellency, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, for his wisdom in choosing an articulate and vibrant young man for the Ministry. We will unreservedly throw our weight behind him to succeed”, he concluded.

On his part, Honourable Haske said he was overwhelmed by the visit of the stakeholders, saying he least expected the it.

He thanked Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for appointing him as Commissioner and promised not to disappoint in his new office.

Honourable Haske said he would not forget his origin, revealing that he would daily ensure he joins forces with Doma Council’s stakeholders to consolidate on the already entrenched peaceful co-existence and development in the area.
