AACT 2026 Consultant Munir Tijjani Relishes Government’s Support Towards Hosting Of Elite Female Golfers In Abuja with the presence of support from the federal government towards a successful venture in Abuja.
Sports247 reports that, with just over a week left before the competition tees off at IBB International Golf & Country Club, Tijjani said he is excited with the level of preparations so far in place by the organising committee.
The guru added that what he sees on ground, in terms of structural and technical planning, gives him an assurance that Nigeria is ready to host the 2026 AACT, especially with adequate support from government and cooperation among stakeholders.
Tijjani pointed out that various angles to the preparations were progressing smoothly ahead of the women’s golf showpiece, which is scheduled to take place from November 2nd to 7th, with over 30 ladies expected to compete.
He added, “The support of government agencies and other partners has strengthened coordination and preparations for the competition. The golf course will be ready for the championship. I am confident about the venue’s readiness to host the tournament.
“It will bring together women golfers representing their various countries to compete for continental honours. It will also provide us with an opportunity to promote women’s golf and strengthen sporting relations among African nations,” the AACT 2026 consultant projected.
Sports247 gathered further that AACT 2026 is the third time that Nigeria will host the contest, having previously staged it in 1996 at Ikoyi Club in Lagos and in 2010 at this year’s venue, IBB International Golf & Country Club in Abuja.
Tijjani added that AACT 2026 will further highlight Nigeria’s capacity to host international sports competitions while providing opportunities for tourism, cultural exchange among participating countries under the slogan, ‘Uniting Africa Through the Greens.’
