Nigeria left-back Jamilu Collins will play in the German Bundesliga next season as his club, SC Paderborn secured promotion to the top flight on Sunday despite a 3-1 defeat away to Dynamo Dresden.
Germany U20 midfielder Philipp Klement scored his 16th goal of the season for Paderborn, before Dynamo hit back courtesy a hattrick from Baris Atik.
Their closest rival for the automatic promotion ticket, Union Berlin needed a win to take second spot, but they drew 2-2 with Bochum.
With both teams on 57 points each, Paderborn picked the ticket on the basis of their superior goal difference.
Collins played all 34 of Paderborn’s Bundesliga B games in the 2018/2019 but was unable to find the net.
He is also a part of Nigeria’s 25-man provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
