The Island AllStars PatrickLingo Super League 2026 reached its halfway stage on Saturday, October 31, with a supermarket takeover, a pharmacy shutdown and a hotel that refused to collapse under construction pressure!
Matchweek 5 at the Lagos Business School Sports Arena delivered another entertaining chapter as Jendol Superstores defeated Remed Healthcare 1–0, while Zudachi Construction and Wellborn Hotels played out a goalless draw.
In the day’s opening encounter, Zudachi arrived with cement, blocks, wheelbarrows and an imaginary demolition permit, determined to bring down Wellborn Hotels.
Unfortunately for the construction giants, the hotel management had apparently reinforced every door, window and emergency exit!
Despite all the building ambitions, neither team could find the back of the net.
The match ended 0–0, leaving Zudachi’s construction workers wondering whether somebody had forgotten to bring the goal-scoring equipment.
Wellborn, meanwhile, happily collected a point and checked out without paying any damages!
But the real business transaction happened in the second encounter.
Jendol Superstores opened their doors against league leaders Remed Healthcare, and Chibuike announced a special offer in the 37th minute: **ONE GOAL, THREE POINTS, NO REFUNDS!**
His strike proved enough to secure a 1–0 victory, leaving Remed’s medical team desperately searching their shelves for an antidote.
For a pharmacy that had been prescribing bitter medicine to opponents, swallowing its own prescription must have been particularly uncomfortable!
Jendol’s victory took the unbeaten supermarket boys to **eight points and first place**, while Zudachi remained unbeaten in second on six points. Remed slipped to third, also on six points.
Wellborn moved to four points, while Daily Manna Global, who observed their scheduled rest day, remained fifth with two points.
Perhaps Daily Manna spent Saturday testing a new bread recipe called *How to Bake Three Points Without Burning the Oven!*
With five matchweeks remaining in this 10-week championship, the title race is wide open.
Proudly sponsored by PatrickLingo Pharmaceuticals Limited, the league continues to celebrate competition, friendship, fitness and healthy living.
Jendol now control the supermarket and the summit, Zudachi’s foundations remain unbeaten, Remed need urgent treatment, Wellborn have finally locked their doors, and Daily Manna are still waiting for the bread of victory to rise!
Five weeks gone, five to go! Nobody should close the shop, discharge the patients or check out of the hotel yet — this football comedy is only halfway through its season!
