Haggai Sports Vows To Continue Supporting Grassroots Sports, As Iwaya Community Brace Up For Maiden LAB Football Carnival

CEO of Haggai Sports, a sportswear manufacturing company, Paul Madukor has expressed the company’s excitement to support the maiden edition of LAB Football Carnival, a football tournament organized to honour the legacy of late Alhaji Layiwola Ayinde Balogun great contributions to the sports development in Iwaya community.

The one-day football competition is slated for Monday, 11 July, 2022 at Abete will feature four teams including Mighty Stars, Dynamos, Soccercity and JSave, competing against one another in a league format while the top ranking team at the end of the day, will be crowned the maiden winners of the tournament and presented a trophy.

Haggai Sports is one of the major sponsors of the events and will be providing the jerseys that will be worn by teams for the tournament, in an effort to develop football in Nigeria.

While speaking to Sports247 Nigeria on Haggai Sportswear commitment to local football in Nigeria, Paul Maduakor, CEO, Haggai Sports, said the company is passionate about football in the grassroots because the foundation needs to be well-structured to have a standard football sector.

“We are excited to be supporting LAB Football Carnival, also committed to the development of football in the grassroots. There are several talents in those local and unprivileged communities that are needed to be scouted and given opportunities to showcase themselves, develop them to become world class footballers like their Western counterparts.

That’s the reason we have been doing our best to help the development of football in the local level because that’s where the process of having a good football structure in this country start and we are ready to use all the resources available at our disposal to ensure that those in the rural areas have equal opportunity to become professionals they hope to be,” he said.

Established in 2016 and located in Lagos state, Haggai Sports became the first sportswear manufacturing company to install the first automated, high-speed sportswear factory.
