Ex-Golden Eaglets skipper scores first professional goal

Former Golden Eaglets skipper, Musa Muhammed scored his first professional goal in HNK Gorica 4-1 thrashing of Istra 1961 in the Croatian 1. HNL on Friday evening.

 

Muhammed who came on at half time, scored the fourth goal in the 83rd minute to claim his first professional goal after 53 league appearances.

At 22, the fullback who captained the Golden Eaglets to win their fourth FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013, has had spells with Lokomotiv Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Istanbul Basaksehir (Turkey) and FK Zeljeznicar Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) before moving to HNK Gorica.

He has also featured for Nigeria at U20 and U23 level and has been capped three times by the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, Muhammed will be hoping to play a part when fifth-placed, Gorica face table-toppers Dinamo Zagreb in their next league game on Wednesday.
