In the men category, Kada Stars defeated Bornu Spiders 38-31 while Kano Pillars inflicted a painful defeat on Lagos Seasiders.
In other games, De Defenders defeated comfortably defeated Owena Kings of Akure 36-21 while Safety Shooters shot down Prison Key Boys with a 47-27 victory.
Plateau Vipers then sealed a comfortable win over Sokoto Rima with a 25-19 victory.
The other game in the men category was walked over. Defending champions got to the venue two hours after their game with COAS Shooters was scheduled to start and organisers gave the victory to the army boys.
In the women category, Imo Grasshoppers destroyed Owena Queens with a 39-11 victory while defending champions saw that it was not going to be stroll in the park this season as they were held to an 18-18 draw match with a resolute Edo Dynamos.
Safety babe also inflicted a resounding 43-20 defeat on Desert Queens while Defender Babes and Kada Queens played out a 21-21 draw game in what was a very interesting tie.
