Enugu Rangers FC’s general manager/CEO, Amobi Ezeaku has come out with reassuring words after the club’s ouster from the CAF Champions League, saying that they have not lost their way and they will keep building.
Sports247 reports that Ezeaku was equally apologetic late Friday, after The Flying Antelopes lost 3-0 away to MC Alger of Algeria in the second leg of their final qualification match for the elite competition’s group stage.
The result means Rangers failed to utilise the 2-0 advantage they had from last week’s first leg in Abeokuta, and Ezeaku admitted it was a huge disappointment for him personally, for the club’s fans and for all Nigerians.
Ezeaku, took to social media to apologise to the club’s supporters, as he noted that it was quite painful seeing how The Coal City outfit eventually conceded back breaking goals in the fading moments of Friday’s reverse fixture but promised they will bounce back stronger.
He posted, “From the bottom of my heart, I am sincerely sorry that we could not give you the result, the joy, and the pride you deserved. I cannot promise a journey without setbacks, but I can assure you that our ambition remains intact.
“We will keep working, keep building, and keep fighting to make you proud. We may have lost a match, but we have not lost our way. We are hurting, but we are not broken. We will rise again. We will fight again. And we will keep building the Rangers we all dream of.”
