CAVB Zone 3 President Ali Yaro Shifts Attention To Upcoming Continental Competitions In Morocco, Cote d’Ivoire

The president of Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3, Ali Yaro has called on all country’s within the sub-region to quickly turn their attention towards an upcoming continental competition on the beach and qualifiers on regular courts.

Sports247 reports that Yaro also urged leaders of the game in all the sub-region’s countries to step up preparations for the African Nations Beach Volleyball Championship in Morocco and African Nations Cup qualifiers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Yaro further praised Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) for hosting a very successful contest in the African Nations Cup Beach Volleyball Zone 3 Qualifiers, which he described as a crucial platform for enhanced development of the sport in West Africa.

He commended the NVBF’s leadership and officials for staging a successful competition, which he said provided other countries a qualitative opportunity to build their teams and prepare for the continental championship, though Nigeria had already qualified.

The CAVB Zone 3 boss added that he was happy seeeing the presence of six nations at the event in Badagry, where he noted that the competition’s top standard reflected the growing strength of volleyball within the sub-region, while the venue’s location made travel easier for neighbouring countries to attend.

Yaro then charged the zone’s leading volleyball nations – Nigeria, Ghana, Benin Republic and Togo – to continue raising their competitive standards, even as he urged them to prepare well for the the African Nations Beach Volleyball Championship in Morocco.

“The standard of play has been very high. Last year, Zone 3 produced several teams that qualified for the World Championship, which shows the strength and potential of our region.

“When we go to Morocco, we will not only represent our individual countries but also Zone 3. We must work together to ensure our teams are fully prepared for this important competition,” said Yaro, who added that seven countries will feature at the indoor qualifiers in Abidjan.
