The training style and commitment of Nigerian-born former two-time world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua has been cited as a major source of motivation for Lagos-based boxer, Alamu Oladiran (aka Destiny Omo Ologo).
The ambitious boxer disclosed this while speaking during Athlete’s Corner segment of Sports247’s television programme, Inside Naija Sports, which airs on NTA News 24 at 10am every Saturday and streams continously online via YouTube.

‘Omo Ologo’ added that he also loves the fighting style of American legend, Floyd Mayweather Jnr, as well as Manny Pacquiao of The Philippines, who he said also inspire him to achieve greatness in the roped square.
He, however, admitted that the payment for boxers in Nigeria is low, hence the need for him to have menial jobs that help him keep body and soul together, while he also had to put on hold his annual Anularigba Boxing Championship.
“Everything is more expensive nowadays. So, it will be difficult for me to organise the competition with my own money, which I don’t even get enough through noxing.
“Apart from boxing, I’m also into commercial triycle union activities. I also have some handwork that I’m using to keep busy and sustain myself.
“All these activities do not distract me from boxing, and they don’t affect my training, because I am very determined and fully focused on my targets.
“I know that, before I eventually retire from boxing, before I’m too old to continue, I will be a world champion. I am inspired by the way Mayweather fights and what he achieved.
“I am also motivated in the way Joshua trains, and I love the style of Manny Pacquiao. Those are my boxing heroes, and I also believe that I will be a champion like them,” Oladiran enthused.
