The name of fast-rising Nigerian professional wrestler, Isaac Odugbesan (aka Oba Femi) is on all lips, hogging discussion points and highlighting media headlines ahead of WrestleMania 42 this weekend in Las Vegas, USA.
Sports247 gathered that the mother of Nigerian-born American Football ace, Nick Emmanwori, who plays as safety for Seattle Seahawks in the NFL, is among the high-profile personalities raising voices of support for the latest wrestling sensation.

Oba Femi has been tagged ‘The Latest Warhol’ on the canvas of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), such that huge expectations are on him, as he gets ready to battle the more glamourous grappler, Brock Lenar on Monday night.
Though he is still regarded as a neophyte, after rising rapid through the wrestling body’s developmental brand (NXT), Oba Femi enters the ring as ‘The Ruler’s decree for success’ and he will open Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 in a hectic bout with Lesnar.
ESPN’s promotional preview of the event noted in part, “He’s big, he’s bad, he’s boisterous and beats the opposition down. Femi works so well, because there isn’t an era you could drop him in where he’d seem out of place. He’s the king of any castle.”
A columnist with ‘Uncrowned’ in USA, Cameron Hawkins added, “The man with the strongest arm in the South wasn’t looking to become a lawyer, doctor or engineer. With his parents’ blessing, he was a studio art major.
“You can still see the graphic designer in him today; there’s precision in the way that he operates, in how he communicates with the audience, in how every time out he paints the exact picture he’s trying to get across.
“His literal canvas is now the wrestling ring, the place where power and personality intersect to create beauty and tragedy. Lately, the size of the spotlight has increased, but that doesn’t change his approach, effort or output.”
Sports247 gathered that WrestleMania 42 will cut across two nights, but fight fans in Nigeria will have to wait until the early hours of Monday to watch Oba Femi tango Brock Lesnar live on ESPN.
