Competing against young athletes from elite international schools, Emififen delivered an all-round display of speed, strength and footballing ability, winning three gold medals and one silver across athletics and football events. Her exploits placed her among the standout performers of the three-day multisport festival.

Her medal haul included gold in the 60 metres sprint (Under-13), gold in the 4×200m relay, and another gold as part of the football team, alongside a silver medal in the shot put—an impressive demonstration of versatility rarely seen at that level.

The event, hosted at the state-of-the-art Aspire Zone Stadium, served as the flagship competition of the World School Games series, bringing together student-athletes from over 30 schools across seven countries. Designed to nurture young talent and promote international camaraderie, the Games featured competitions in athletics, football and swimming across under-11, under-13 and under-15 age categories.

Representing St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, Emififen not only excelled individually but also showed leadership in team events, contributing decisively to her school’s success on both the track and the football pitch.

Her father, Amaju Melvin Pinnick—former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and a current member of the FIFA Council—expressed pride in his daughter’s achievements, describing her performance as a reflection of discipline, hard work and the value of providing young athletes with global exposure.

The 2026 edition marked the first time the World School Games Olympia was staged in Doha, further reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class sporting events. For Emififen Pinnick, the tournament may well represent the beginning of a promising journey, as her performances in Doha have already positioned her as a rising star in international school sports.
