Sports247 reports that, as both sides brace for their first game at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Samatta is raising the ante for a shock result from his team.

The Le Havre of France attacker, whose birthday is on the match day, added that the players have been put through the right techniques by their Argentine coach, Miguel Gamondi, and he believes they are in the right frame of mind to shock the Super Eagles.

Samatta, who previously played for Genk and Antwerp of Belgium as well as Fernebahce of Turkey and PAOK of Greece, disclosed: “Our training sessions in Rabat have been very good.

“The morale in the camp is high, and every player understands the responsibility that comes with wearing the national jersey.”

The smooth-talking striker, who got his first AFCON match versus Senegal on June 23, 2019, under former Super Eagles’ winger and assistant coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, believes Taifa Stars will win on Tuesday once they follow their gaffer’s instructions.

“The coaches are giving us the best possible guidance. Everything we are doing in training is aimed at ensuring we are ready when we step onto the pitch.

“We are following the instructions, working hard and pushing ourselves because we want to perform well,” stressed Samatta, who moved to Le Havre on August 5th.
