Unorji, who boasts personal bests of 6.66s in the 60m and 10.28s in the 100m, has grown into a reliable force for Southern Miss Track & Field, standing out as one of the most consistent sprinters in the Sun Belt Conference.

In 2025, the 20-year-old delivered a dominant indoor campaign, storming to the Sun Belt 60m title, while also securing victory in the 100m at the Southern Miss Invitational, underscoring his steady progression and competitive maturity.

His rapid rise didn’t start this season. In 2024, Unorji anchored several breakthrough moments for Southern Miss, including a 4x100m relay victory, a silver medal in the 100m at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, where he clocked his 10.28s PB, and four indoor 60m wins, capped by the Sun Belt Indoor crown.

Before making the leap to the NCAA, Unorji had already established himself as one of Nigeria’s finest youth sprinters.

He competed at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Kenya, reached the 100m final at the African U20 Championships, and played a crucial role in Nigeria’s African U20 4x100m gold-winning team.

With confidence high and momentum firmly on his side, the Nigerian speedster is tipped for an explosive season, with fans eagerly anticipating what he will deliver both indoors and outdoors in 2025.
