With athletes from over 10 countries set to compete—including Ghana, Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon, Liberia, Niger Republic, The Gambia, and Seychelles—Nigeria is stepping into the tournament with the confidence of a market leader defending its competitive edge.

Federation President Kayode Ladele disclosed that the national team’s camp opens today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, signalling the final activation phase of Nigeria’s operational plan.
He noted that the athletes have maintained consistent high-performance training long before the country’s official confirmation for the event, a move he described as a “strategic advantage” reflecting the team’s discipline and drive.
“When it comes to West African Paravolley, Nigeria remains the strongest, and our benchmark is gold. We’re not negotiating that,” Ladele said, underscoring the federation’s ambition.
He acknowledged the pressure that accompanies leadership in the region but framed it as motivation rather than a threat. According to him, sustaining Nigeria’s competitive dominance requires precision, preparation, and exceptional consistency—qualities the federation is intentionally reinforcing ahead of the Games.
Ladele also praised the seamless collaboration between the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria, the National Sports Commission, and the Federation, describing their support as “the backbone enabling Nigeria’s regional leadership push.”
With the countdown officially underway, Nigeria is gearing up not just to participate, but to deliver a performance that consolidates its status as West Africa’s powerhouse in Paravolley.
