15-Year-Old Nigerian Striker Chidinma Nwokedi Signs With Chelsea FC Women U15

Chelsea FC Women have officially signed 15-year-old Nigerian-descent forward Chidinma Nwokedi to their U15 team.

Nwokedi, formerly of Cray Wanderers, made headlines by scoring 203 goals in just 62 appearances, making her the all-time top scorer in her category at the club. Known for her sharp instincts and powerful finishing, she now joins one of England’s top female academies.

Chidinma Nwokedi becomes only the third player of Nigerian descent to sign with Chelsea Women, following Eniola Aluko, who joined in 2009, and Ashanti Akpan, who entered the academy in 2013 at age seven. Akpan went on to win the FA Youth Cup in 2021/22 and the FA WSL Academy Cup in 2022/23.

Nwokedi’s arrival reflects Chelsea’s continued investment in diverse and promising young talent.

She will represent Chelsea U15s in the 2025/26 season as she begins the next phase of her football journey.
