Winning Against Gbagada Fc Is A Confidence Booster For Us- Abdulfatai Abdulwahab Commends Players For Getting The First Win Of The League Season

Coach of Imperial Fc, Abdulfatai Abdulwahab has commended the efforts of his players for registering their first win of the league, stating that the win is very important for his side, as it will serve as a morale booster for them ahead of subsequent matches.

Imperial Fc won their first game of the Creative Championship League after defeating Gbagada Fc today at the Agege Stadium in match week 8 of the Creative Championship League.

Ezeno gave Imperial Fc the lead as early as the 10th minute of the game, but Omolaja equalized for Gbagada Fc in the 52nd minute. Imperial Fc Goalkeeper made some crucial interceptions and saves for his team to keep the opposition at bah and when the game looks as though it was heading for a 1-1 draw, Aondokaa struck for Imperial Fc in the 87th minute of the game to hand Abdulfatai Abdulwahab his first win of the Creative Championship League.

Speaking after the match with Sports247, Coach of Imperial Fc, Abdulfatai Abdulwahab expressed his delight towards his team getting their first win in the league, as he commended the efforts of his players, stating that the win will boost their confidence heading into subsequent matches.

“It’s a happy moment for all my players. This win will definitely boost our morale moving forward. We are now doing a different thing, which has now brought about this positive result that everyone can see”.

“When a team is playing and losing always, it affects a lot around the team. But as a coach, I told the players never to allow the previous games to get into their heads, that at Imperial Fc, winning is not the main priority but the development of these players. So in today’s encounter, we needed to win, to boost the morale and confidence in the team”.

While still speaking, Abdulfatai Abdulwahab took some time out to hail and commend the efforts of his outstanding goalkeeper, who made amazing saves for them and kept his side in the game, before their winning goal in the 87th minute by Aondokaa.

“It was a great performance from him. I had to call him on phone yesterday telling him to believe in himself that he could do it today. And he told me not to worry that he was going to make me proud today, which he did. He not only made me proud, but he also made himself proud and I believe he will continue in that form. Kudos to him today, he was extremely amazing,” he hailed.

Imperial Fc will hope to continue the momentum of registering their first win in the League, by winning their subsequent matches, as they aim to move up from the bottom of the League table.
