NPFL Match Week 6 Summary: Nasarawa United, Sunshine Stars Grabs Away Victories, As Plateau United, MFM Fc, Lobi Stars Pick A Point Away From Home

The 2020/2021 NPFL season continued to produce interesting football actions as a total of ten (10) goals were scored in Match week 6 on Sunday.

In Aba, It was an unproductive affair, as MFM Fc of Lagos held Abia Warriors to a Goalless draw (0-0). Both teams played out their best in the encounter but neither of them looked like scoring the winning goal, as the game ended stalemate and both teams earning a point apiece.

Just like the result in Aba, Enugu Rangers as well were forced to a Goalless draw at home by Lobi Stars of Makurdi at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. The flying antelopes who are having a good run in the league so far, with just one loss from five matches played so far, could not break down the resilient defense of Lobi Stars, even after Lobi Stars were reduced to 10 men, with Martin’s receiving his marching orders in the 85th minute of the encounter.

In Illorin, Kwara United defeated Ifeanyi Ubah 1-0, with Olawale scoring the only goal of the game.

In Warri, Warri Wolves lost at home to Nasarawa United 2-1. Ihuarulam gave the home side the lead in the 21st minute of the game, but goals from Nwankwo and Ohanachom in the 63rd and 78th minutes of the game respectively gave the Northern-based side all three points in the fascinating encounter.

In Owerri, Heartland Fc came from behind to win 2-1 against Akwa United. Nnosiri and Eze both scored for the Nazi Billionaires in the 52nd minute and 79th minute respectively to cancel out Udoh’s goal for the visitors in the 34th minute of the match.

Sunshine Stars of Akure won away from home against Dakadda Fc 2-1. Two goals from Yusuf, in the 13th minute and 64th minute, gave Gbenga Ogunbote’s troops a commanding lead, while Edet’s goal in the 65th minute of the game was just a consolation goal as Sunshine Stars held on for a massive away win, which was their first of the league season.

Yesterday (Saturday) in Katsina, Plateau United held Katsina United to a barren draw (0-0), with both teams failing to break each other down.
