The club’s General Manager, Olisa Onuchukwu has sent a message to his Galloping Zebras team following their upcoming final league match fixture with Giant Brillars FC of Enugu.
Olisa charged the players to avoid complacency in their task to remain and finish well in the Nigeria National League.
Edel FC Currently sit fifth in the NNL table with eleven (11) points gathered so far from nine (9) games.
The Galloping Zebras are expected to gain promotion to the Elite League ‘NPL’ next season, following a disappointing 2023 ‘NNL’ campaign as relegation playoff knocking on the door.
The astute football administrator told the players that they cannot afford to assume they would be on a safer side with anything apart from winning this weekend.
“We the management are trying our best, especially the President who is managing with European mentality to make sure your careers and future are secured.
“Prepare yourself, draw will not see us through. If you win on Saturday, you must have done well because remember you ended up as one of the best 16 clubs in Nigeria in F.A Cup which is not bad. I have to praise you when you’re doing well but equally, I have to remind you when danger is lurking around.”
“We need to play on Saturday like people that are possessed, persuade your mind by throwing away every other thing you have.”
“Make sure you prepare very well physically, mentally and spiritually.” He concluded
