Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC midfielder Priscilla Okyere has insisted that her side’s previous victory over Edo Queens FC in the group stage will count for little when the two teams meet again in the final of the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament.
Sports247 reports that the Ghanaian champions defeated Edo Queens in their earlier group-stage encounter, but Okyere believes the final presents an entirely different challenge, with both teams now focused on securing the trophy and a place in the next stage of the competition.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Okyere stressed that the outcome of the group-stage meeting does not guarantee another victory.
«“We beat them in the group stage, but that doesn’t mean we are done yet. Every game has a game plan. We have lost to Nigerians in the final and won once. We are winning this.”»
The experienced midfielder said Ampem Darkoa have thoroughly reviewed their previous matches and made the necessary corrections ahead of the decisive encounter.
“We all play and watch our last games and make corrections. We don’t relax and we don’t care who we face,” she added.
According to Okyere, Ampem Darkoa’s biggest motivation is the opportunity to progress to the UEFA Women’s Champions League proper, making Saturday’s final much more than a battle for regional supremacy.
“Our dream is to play in the Champions League proper. That’s our motivation, and we need to work towards that in the final.”
The midfielder also acknowledged the importance of supporters and called on fans across Ghana and beyond to rally behind the team as they pursue continental glory.
“We seek support from our fans across. Their support means a lot to us,” Okyere said.
With both teams having already tasted victory against each other in competitive encounters, Saturday’s final promises to be another fiercely contested battle.
Edo Queens are seeking revenge and a trophy for Nigeria, while Ampem Darkoa are determined to prove their group-stage victory was no fluke. For Okyere and her teammates, however, the message is clear: the past is history, and the target is victory in the final.
