Uprise Flag Football League: Yellow Trumpets To Battle The Chiefs In First Ever Championship League Title

Following the conclusion of the regular season where four teams participated in the six weeks action, two teams in Yellow Trumpets and The Chiefs are set to battle it out for a first ever championship league title in the final scheduled for August 6th.

Lagos Preparatory School, Ikoyi, Lagos is set to welcome dignitaries, top NFL stars of Nigerian descent and the four team owners that participated in the first edition amidst fun and galore.

Geared towards the boys’ between the ages of 15-20, the Uprise Flag Football League saw the players been coached and tutored on the basics of American Flag Football before the competition eventually started and has since gone on to produce standout talents among the pools of players in the first official NFL Flag Football League in Nigeria.

To get to the championship game finals, the Yellow Trumpets needed a win over the Naija Lions in the last game of the regular season and relying on a favor from thier finals’ opponent, The Chiefs.

The Chiefs who picked a 4-2 victory are on an impressive run of four games unbeaten going into the final game which will decide the eventual winners of the maiden championship.

Pioneered and led by Osi Umenyiora who is a two times Super Bowl champion, the former New York Giants defensive end is partnered by David Njoku who is currently plying his trade with Cleveland Browns, the owner of the Chiefs who will be playing in the finals and Emmanuel Ogbah ( Naija Lions owner who plays for Miami Dolphins, Romeo Okwara of Detroit Lions, The tigers team owner and Maurice Jones Drew, the only American team owner who played for Jacksonville Jaguars owns the Yellow Trumpets.

With aim to connecting African players in the NFL to thier roots back home, the core focus is to showcase young, promising talents in Nigeria and Africa at large while also drawing the public attention to African athletes currently playing professional football in America.
