Vice President of the Nigeria Teqball Federation, Ndudi Edede, has expressed satisfaction following the successful staging of the country’s inaugural national Teqball league.
Reacting to the tournament, Edede described the competition as a major milestone in the development of the sport in Nigeria.
“We are very pleased,” he said.
According to him, the performances displayed by participating teams exceeded expectations, highlighting the growing interest and potential of Teqball across the country.
“The quality was impressive,” he implied.
Teqball, a relatively new sport that combines elements of football and table tennis, is gradually gaining traction in Nigeria, and the successful launch of a national league is seen as a significant step forward.
“This is a big step,” he noted.
Edede also revealed that plans are already in place to expand the competition in its next edition, with the aim of increasing participation and raising the overall standard.
“We will make it bigger,” he added.
For the federation, the focus is on building a sustainable structure that will allow the sport to thrive at both grassroots and elite levels.
“It’s about growth,” he stressed.
The inaugural league has not only provided a platform for players to showcase their skills but has also helped to create awareness about the sport.
As momentum builds, stakeholders are optimistic about the future of Teqball in Nigeria.
For Edede, the message is clear.
This is only the beginning.
And with continued effort and investment, the sport could become a major force in the country’s sporting landscape.
Because every new sport starts small.
But with the right vision, it can grow into something big.
