Speaking just before the team’s departure, Igoche backed the Flyers to make a strong impression on the continental stage despite the challenges that lie ahead.
“They will do well,” he said.
The Basketball Africa League, widely regarded as Africa’s premier club competition, will see the Flyers compete against some of the best teams on the continent, a step up from domestic competition.
“It will be competitive,” he implied.
However, Igoche believes the Nigerian side has what it takes to hold its own, provided they approach the tournament with the right mindset and preparation.
“They must be ready,” he noted.
He also assured that the team will have the full support of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, emphasizing the importance of institutional backing in such high-level competitions.
“They have support,” he added.
For Igoche, the Flyers’ participation represents an opportunity to showcase Nigerian basketball talent and further elevate the country’s reputation in the sport.
“It’s a big stage,” he stressed.
The team’s performance will be closely watched, as fans hope for a strong showing in their first appearance at the tournament.
As anticipation builds, expectations remain high.
For Igoche, the belief is simple.
Compete.
Represent.
Deliver.
Because in continental basketball, every game is a chance to make a statement.
