Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has heaped praises on Wilfred Ndidi as he names him as one of the most valuable players in the current super Eagles team.

Oliseh who was also a former player and captain of the national team revealed this while reminiscing on his time as a player, his teammates, and Nigeria’s success on the global stage among many other achievements

Speaking about the player that he thinks is similar to him in the national team, without hesitation, Oliseh handpicked Leicester City’s midfield powerhouse, Ndidi.

“I like Ndidi a lot, I fancy him a lot, he sacrifices himself for others and that’s what defensive midfielders do, they give freedom for others to play while shielding the defense line.”

“And that’s why I love Kante a lot, I played in his position, he knows the most important thing to do in his position, he perfectly knows his job. I will pick him ahead of Ndidi, Kessie anyway if I have all of them at my disposal.”

“Ndidi needs more to his game and his coach needs to help him develop, we can see that level in Kante, he’s extremely good and that’s why France won the World Cup.”

The former Ajax player gave Ndidi his first national call up and he has been a regular ever since despite his exit from the team.

Ndidi is currently sidelined from participating in the ongoing Afcon games due to an injury he sustainable towards the end of last season.

He is expected to be fit for the new season as Leicester will be pushing for a top 4 finish once again after missing out last season.
