Suliat Abideen Shines as Fomget GSK Clinch Turkish Women’s Super Lig Title

Nigeria’s Suliat Abideen was instrumental in Fomget GSK’s 4-2 victory over Galatasaray on the final matchday of the 2024/25 Turkish Women’s Super Lig, played on Sunday.

Abideen opened the scoring in the 34th minute, setting the tone for the champions. Oriana Altuve added a second before Abi Kim extended the lead to 3-0 in the 39th minute.

Galatasaray responded with goals from Ina Kristofferson and Nigerian defender Oluwatosin Demehin, but Milica Mijatovic’s strike ensured Fomget maintained a comfortable cushion.

Last season, it was Chinaza Uchendu who lifted the title with Galatasaray, but this time, Abideen emerged victorious. The Nigerian forward, who joined Fomget from Edo Queens, netted seven goals in her debut campaign and has now claimed back-to-back league titles in Nigeria and Turkey.

The win secured Fomget’s second league crown in three seasons, finishing with 70 points—two ahead of closest rivals Fenerbahce—and earned them qualification for next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League.
