” He candidly recounts an instance that moved him, stating, “During a match between Joy Comet and Bendel Insurance, an untimely referee decision led to a goal against us. The unfairness of the situation evoked my tears. However, I realized that setbacks are part of the game, and I needed to overcome it. I have not shed tears since, as I focus on moving forward.”

As he envisions his future, Olamilekan sets his sights on elevating his career to the international arena. His determination to excel drives him to aim higher and achieve remarkable feats in his goalkeeping journey.

Olamilekan draws inspiration from his role model, Marc-André ter Stegen, the proficient German goalkeeper renowned for his contributions to La Liga club Barcelona and the Germany national team.

He reveals, “Ter Stegen’s performances have been a source of joy and learning for me. His goalkeeping prowess, including his unique ability to save with his legs, has been an instrumental lesson that I apply in my own play. The confidence he exudes in front of the goal is truly remarkable.”
