Fair-Havens FC striker, Sadiq Olaitan Anifowoshe will go all out for his fifth goal at the ongoing Nathaniel Idowu Unity Cup at New Maracana Stadium in Olodi-Apapa area of Ajegunle, Lagos when his side face Saint Petersburg FC in the competition’s first knockout fixture.
Sports247 gathered that the potentially explosive fixture is billed to commence at 12pm this Friday on the lush green astro-turf surface of the multi-pitch arena, and all eyes will be on Anifowoshe (aka Alfa) to make hay once again.
That is sequel to the fact that the lanky striker scored braces in each of his team’s first two matches of the group stage, to take his total haul to four goals, and all expectations are on him hitting the bullseye once again.
A battling midfielder in the team, Innocent Azuonye told Sports247: “One of our strikers, Alfa, scored two goals in the first match and two in the second one. He also won man of the match twice. He is very dangerous and has a lot of speed, with sense and good eyes to score goals. He wears number 10 jersey.”
It’s now left to be seen if ‘Alfa’ will overcome expected tough tackles and stiff opposition in the defence line of St. Petersburg FC, as he aims to keep his rain of goals going at the well attended competition on the ground that used to be known as ‘Big Field.’
