Flying Eagles media officer, Sherrif Abdullahi, has assured Nigerians that the U-20 team will not lack fan support when they take on South American powerhouse Argentina in the FIFA U-20 World Cup round of 16 in Santiago, Chile.
Sherrif Abdullahi revealed that the team has enjoyed overwhelming backing since their group-stage matches in Talca and expects the same electric atmosphere in Santiago. “The support has been incredible. Even though we’re far from home, Nigerians in Chile have been turning up for us,” he said.

He added that the fans’ energy has served as a major morale boost for the players, who are determined to repay the faith shown in them. “The players feel it — they know they’re representing millions, and that’s what drives them to fight for every ball,” he said.
Sherrif Abdullahi also praised the Nigerian community in Chile for mobilizing support and organizing to cheer the team from the stands. “It’s like a home game for us,” he smiled.
The Flying Eagles are set for a tough test against host nation Argentina, with a place in the quarterfinals on the line.
