Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has admitted that Celtic’s final league game of the season came with enormous pressure before the club eventually secured the Scottish Premiership title.
Reflecting on the tense atmosphere ahead of the decisive clash against Heart of Midlothian F.C., Iheanacho revealed that the entire squad understood the magnitude of the occasion.
“There was a lot of tension,” he said.
According to the Nigerian forward, the pressure surrounding the title race made the encounter emotionally demanding from start to finish.
“It wasn’t an easy game,” he implied.
Despite the nerves, Iheanacho praised the mentality of the Celtic squad for continuing to believe until the final whistle.
“We kept believing it was possible,” he noted.
