Sports247 reports that Onikeku gave his verdict following the official unveiling of Masajedi by Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), with a task to oversee all the national teams, monitor youth academies and promote progress of clubs in the domestic league.

Onikeku took a closer look at Masajedi’s track record and reasoned that the tactician’s wealth of experience will boost development in Nigeria, while also aiding the country’s quest for continental success, as preparations intensify for the 2026 African Nations Women’s Volleyball Championship.

After observing Masajedi’s first training session with the squad, Onikeku said the Japanese tactician is a positive addition to Nigerian volleyball, as his technical expertise will help to improve the development of players and strengthen the country’s international competitiveness.

“We are delighted to welcome Ryan Masajedi. He has a wealth of experience and we believe he will add great value to our volleyball programme. Nigeria has an abundance of talent.

With the right technical guidance and structure, we can dominate volleyball in Africa,” Onikeku asserted.
