Paris FC Secure Moses Simon in Ambitious Move Ahead of Ligue 1 Debut — Nigerian Winger Ends Six-Year Spell at Nantes

Paris FC have made a statement signing ahead of their historic Ligue 1 debut, confirming the arrival of Nigerian international Moses Simon from FC Nantes.

The 29-year-old winger joins the newly-promoted side on a deal running until 2028, as first reported by journalist Erik Shammah on June 17.

Simon’s switch marks the end of a memorable six-year stint with Nantes, where he was a consistent attacking threat and a fan favourite.

His final season in the yellow and green saw him notch eight goals and 10 assists — numbers that proved vital in keeping Nantes six points clear of relegation.

Over his time at the club, Simon amassed over 200 appearances, scored 37 goals, and delivered 42 assists. He played a pivotal role in Nantes’ Coupe de France success in 2022, scoring key goals en route to lifting the trophy — the club’s fourth in history — and featured again in their 2023 final run.

Simon made his departure official with an emotional video tribute and farewell message:
“Six seasons giving everything with my heart — sprints, crosses, goosebumps and memories engraved forever.”

Paris FC, who secured promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time in their history, see Simon’s experience and pace as crucial to their top-flight ambitions. His arrival sends a clear signal of intent from the club, determined not just to survive in Ligue 1 but to compete.

The move also represents a fresh chapter for Simon, who previously played in Spain with Levante before making the switch to France in 2019. Now, he brings his skillset and leadership to the capital in what promises to be an exciting season for both player and club
