In spite of elaborate publicity about the Super Eagles’ star’s N612m health centre that is already taking shape in Amakohia area of the state capital, Owerri, no one in government is aware of it.

On the spot checks by Sports247 revealed that nothing has been stated officially at both the state’s football association and sports ministry about the player’s private initiative in Owerri West local government area.

Surprisingly, the 31-year-old Onuachu, who has reportedly committed into the project three months of his salary at his Turkish Super Lig club, is yet to make contact with anybody in government circles across Imo State.

However, a close associate of the giant striker, who was produced by Young Stars FC of Satellite Town, Lagos, told Sports247 in confidence that the star need not get the state government involved in what is purely a private venture.

“Will you go and tell the state government when you want to build your mansion in the village?” asked the associate in defence of Onuachu, who previously played for FC Ebedie of Sagamu and FC Midtjylland of Denmark.
